Sport Fishing

Newport trademarked the phrase 'Dungeness Capital of the World' in 2007. Crabbing is open all year long and can be done anywhere along the Oregon Coast. The Port of Newport is a public fishing pier, but you can also hire a commercial charter for the best experience. Crab cookers are provided for guests on the Landing's common patio. Crab cooking in a condo is strictly prohibited.

Newport offers some of the best Sport Fishing: Lingcod, Coho and Chinook Salmon, Halibut, and Tuna are just a few of the fantastic fishing opportunities.

With Yaquina Bay in our backyard, and commercial fishing charters close by, The Landing is the perfect place to stay.

Voted best free tourist attraction, Port Dock One is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  More information about the sea lions, including protective laws are posted on Port  Dock One.

Tide Pools happen when the ocean tide retreats and leaves seawater trapped in indentations in the sand or rocks, enabling you to observe all the marine habitats previously hidden by the churning waves.

A few places to  see tide pools include Devils Punchbowl, Otter Crest Beach, and Agate Beach near the Yaquina Head Lighthouse.
